Akosombo Textiles Limited mounts two shows at the Kumasi Fashion Week 2022.
African Fashion has always been heavily swayed by wax prints, which in a mode has made that particular fabric choice a go-to for many African fashion marques.
One of such A-listed textiles manufacturers is, Ghana’s Akosombo Textiles industrial company Limited; producers of ATL, ABC, Da Viva, and Treasure fabrics.
The Annual Kumasi Fashion Week had the honor to partner ATL fabrics for the 6th edition which ensued a few weeks ago. The envelopment of the ATL fabrics at the Kumasi Fashion week was used as the Avenue and platform to uncover the brand’s 65th Anniversary designs collection yet to go public for the mass market.
Two Selected Ghanaian fashion Designers, Afriken by Nana and Jerry Mensah were charged to make a capsule collection with a new set of Fabrics by ATL at the Grand 2-day Runway shows at the 2022 Kumasi Fashion Week.

Afriken by Nana delivered a Classic chic all women’s wear collection highlighting statements silhouettes from Skirts to beautiful wrap shirts and head wraps and closed it out with some bridal pieces paying attention to the pattern layout of the print fabrics by ATL.

Designer Jerry Mensah did present an Afro-fusion of contemporary unisex outline with a play on color blocking techniques, which was refreshing and new!

The Sustainability Fashion Task
The 4 days Kumasi fashion week was commenced with a sustainable fashion task by GYEM
which was also supported by ATL fabrics and Verna natural mineral water. Selected Tertiary students from Kumasi were tasked to recycle and create new pieces from second-hand clothes up-cycled using prints from Da Viva.
The deliveries by these Students were great to say.
Check the task in the images below.
