TV personality and businesswoman Basetsana Kumalo shared a special message with Connie Ferguson on Wednesday as she prepared to lay her husband, Shona, to rest.
The South African actor and producer died from Covid-19 related complications on 30 July. He was 47. A funeral service attended only by the family took place on Wednesday.
Together with his wife, Connie, the couple started their production company Ferguson Films in 2010, producing award-winning TV shows, including Rockville, The Queen and The Throne.
The power couple not only inspired the country with their success in business but also how boldly and openly they loved each other.
Dedicating an Instagram video tribute to Connie, Basetsana wrote: “What I know for sure he loved you deeply…intensely, passionately, ever so beautifully. Yours was a union made in heaven. The joy you brought each other was palpable. The entire nation and across the borders feel your pain, but we will never know the intensity of your broken heart.”
She went on to say: “You will carry your husband’s legacy as he watches over you as your special angel.”
About the love the couple shared for each other, Basetsana wrote: “The two of you have been exceptional examples of a love that is so beautiful to witness.”
In the video tribute, showing photos and video clips of Shona with his family, the actor is heard saying: “God has been so good. God has been faithful. God has been loving, kind, protective. I’m grateful for everything that has happened in my life, including the challenges.”
