#BBMzansi: Amapiano Star, Kamo Mphela Robs the Show at the Grand Premiere of Big Brother Mzansi 2022

Big Brother Mzansi returned to South African television on Sunday 23 January with thousands of fans tuning in. The highly-anticipated reality show hosted by seasoned actor Lawrence Maleka quickly topped Twitter’s trending list. Amapiano star Kamo Mphela also trended for her high-energy performance on the Big Brother Mzansi stage.

‘BIG BROTHER MZANSI’ PREMIERE 

The Big Brother Mzansi premiere aired on Mzansi Magic on Sunday evening and had fans roaring with excitement as the housemates entered the house for the first time. Big Brother Mzansi opened with a tribute to veteran actor Patrick Shai who passed away on Saturday 22 January.

18 housemates entered the house and the competition is tough as the first eviction show is set to take place Sunday 30 January at 18:00.

Big Brother Mzansi will be on television 24/7 on DStv channel 198 with daily highlights from 22:30.

KAMO MPHELA’S ELECTRIC PERFORMANCE

Amapiano stars, Kamo Mphela, Ch’cco, Mellow and Sleazy were the entertainment for the evening. Kamo Mphela stole the show with an electric performance of her amapiano prayer, Nkulunkulu.

Mphela also joined Ch’cco on stage for a performance of the viral hit, Nkao Tempela.

Although there are no official highlights of the performance on the Big Brother Mzansi stage, fans managed to capture parts of her performance on their cellphones.

KAMO STEALS THE SHOW 

Entertainment blogger Phil Mphela commended Kamo Mphela for performing at “every major event”. “Kamo Mphela’s team or management is working overtime,” he wrote.

Another tweep wrote: “Kamo Mphela and her team’s performance is top tier. Unmatched!!!!”

“[She] is actually a great performer. Appreciation to her, she understood the assignment”.
