“I’m opening a new restaurant everyone!”
After closing his Pretoria-based restaurant in 2019, J’Something is picking up the pieces with a new culinary adventure, this time in Johannesburg.
On Wednesday, the musician announced on Instagram that he, in partnership with BlackBrick – a next-generation apartment hotel network – will be opening a new spot called Artistry.
“Artistry is a cultural platform that will bring you the best of the culinary, cinematic, theatrical and musical arts.”
In a recent interview with News24, the Mi Casa frontman opened up about watching his business, like many others, suffer during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I saw my business drop from hero to zero, literally everything completely gone,” he said. “I obviously went into a dark space. It wasn’t like super dark. I had a lot of light around me.”
J added that something a friend said helped change his perspective on losing his business.
And now that “it is all over,” the 34-year-old has a lot to look forward to after being so proactive.
In addition to the upcoming opening of the restaurant, J’Something is gearing up for the first two shows of his Indoor tour and the release of a new album with Mi Casa.
