The regional government of Extremadura, Spain is offering more than €15,000 to digital nomads to move to this territory.

Authorities in Extremadura have allocated a total of €2 million that will be used to aid the relocation of a total of 200 remote workers and digital nomads in this territory.

Requirements to Benefit From Extremadura’s Digital Nomad Visa Program
Extremadura’s Digital Nomad Visa in particular aims to attract highly qualified professionals from the tech industry.
Those interested are required to work completely remotely and online through the exclusive use of media and IT systems, as well as telematics and information fields.
Foreigners seeking to become part of this scheme are required to commit to keeping a remote job and living in Extremadura for at least two years.
Extremadura’s Digital Nomad Visa program can benefit those living abroad as well as those living in other areas of Spain, provided they have not lived in Extremadura in the previous six months.
Internationals interested to apply can do so, but must be resident legally in Spain and possess a foreign identity number (NIE) found on their green EU certificate or non-EU TIE card.
Non-EU nationals are also eligible to apply provided they are already participating in Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa Program.
Applying for Extremadura’s Digital Nomad Visa
In order to benefit from this scheme, applicants are required to submit their applications electronically through the Extremadura General Electronic Access Point.
Applicants are required to hold a digital certificate or electronic Spanish ID card, which allows them for electronic identification.
Those moving from another region of Spain are required to hold an original report supplied by the General Treasury of Social Security, proving that they are up to date with social security payments, and a document proving they don’t have any debts with the Treasury of Extremadura.
