The Irish authorities have announced that the country’s Domestic Residence and Permissions Division (DRP) has introduced an application form for the Extension of Student Conditions.
Non-EEA national students should note that the Student Pathway sets out the immigration route for non-EEA national students.
As it has been explained, the form contains four sections. In the first section, non-EEA students are required to fill out personal details, including their full name, date of birth, and nationality, among others.
In the second section, students need to provide details of their current passport or other travel documents used to enter the country, and they will also need to provide their immigration history.
As for the third section, it has been explained that students will be required to provide details about their full academic history in Ireland, including details on all courses undertaken in the country.
Lastly, in the fourth section, students will have to tell why they were refused registration at their local immigration office as well as outline in detail the exceptional circumstances that have resulted in them applying for Domestic Residence for immigration permission.
During the course of processing the application, the Domestic Residence and Permissions Division may require further information, too.
Failure to forward the documentation requested within ten working days will result in your application being deemed incomplete and refused. When a decision is reached in your case, the decision letter will be issued to you by registered post to the given address.
In addition to the above-mentioned, it has been noted that the form should be posted along with the other required documents.
Once the application is received by the authorities, the document will be processed. The authorities said that they would process the documents as quickly as possible, but they cannot provide updates on the application status.
Moreover, it has been stressed that applications will only be accepted from persons who are in the country. Students are required to provide evidence of current residence in the country and submit three months’ bank statements or three months’ payslips.
If successful, students will also need to show evidence of private medical insurance when they register at their local immigration office, and a registration fee of €300 will be payable.
