A woman wants to show her 490,000 Instagram followers that there’s beauty in being “flat-chested” and “skinny”.
Clara Dao is known for sharing body-positive content online but she admits people can still make cruel comments about her looks.
Despite the body-shaming, she won’t let what people say get her down. In fact, she celebrates her body on social media by stripping down to bikinis and lingerie to flaunt her slender frame.
She recently flaunted her body posting pictures of herself wearing nothing other than a teeny grey bikini set.
Writing on Instagram, Clara said: “Wishing u a (late) happy new year! I hope you are doing well both physically and mentally, as we step into the new year, let’s commit to prioritizing self-love and body confidence.
“In a world that often dictates unrealistic standards, let 2024 be the year we celebrate our unique beauty and embrace every curve (or the lack thereof imperfection and uniqueness). Your body is a masterpiece, and it’s time to cherish it wholeheartedly.
“This year, let’s ditch the toxic standards and focus on what truly matters – your own happiness and well-being. Surround yourself with positivity, practice self-care and remember that your worth is not determined by others’ opinions.
“The more you love yourself, the more beautiful you become. I love you.”
Her post elicited supportive comments.
One person said: “You are the very first person who’s made me feel like it’s okay to have a flat chest. You’ve opened a new world for me and I honestly can’t thank you enough.”
Another added: “Even skinny girls have stretch marks. Thank you for not editing them out.”
A third replied: “I just want to say that you’re absolutely beautiful. I love seeing other body types being shown off. So many beautiful women with your shape that need to put themselves out there more. Absolutely stunning.”
