Data provided by the eVisitor system revealed that in the first ten months of the year, there were more than 19.8 million arrivals in Croatia and over 105.8 million overnight stays, marking a nine per cent increase in arrivals and a three per cent rise in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.
Such data also show that as for the regions, the first ten months witnessed the highest number of arrivals in Istria, with 4.9 million visitors, marking a five per cent increase compared to 2022. Split-Dalmatia County followed closely with 3.8 million arrivals, thus showing an 11 per cent growth over the previous year.
In addition, Kvarner registered 3.1 million arrivals, a five per cent growth from 2022; Zadar County with two million arrivals, a six per cent rise compared to the previous year, Dubrovnik-Neretva County with two million arrivals, showing an 18 per cent increase from last year.
Further data from eVisitor pointed out that other regions that also recorded a large number of arrivals in Croatia are as follows:
- Šibenik-Knin County (one million)
- Lika-Senj County (752,000)
- Zagreb (1.1 million)
In the rest of the country, more than one million arrivals were recorded, representing an increase of 15 per cent compared to last year.
As for the top destinations, the first ten months saw the highest number of arrivals in Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Split, Rovinj, Poreč, and Zadar. Regarding source markets, during the same period, the most arrivals came from the German market, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and Poland, with 3.3 million arrivals, 2.5 million, 1.6 million, 1.6 million, and 1.1 million, respectively.
We are nearing the end of another very challenging tourist year, but the dynamics and intensity of tourist traffic, which continues to take place in our country, are the best indicators of the growing and better recognition of Croatia as an attractive year-round tourist destination.
