Denmark to Apply Updated Wage Conditions for Skilled Workers.
The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) has said that updated wage statistics will apply to foreign skilled workers when applying to get a job on the positive list.
According to SIRI, all those who submit an application before August 1, 2023, will be evaluated by the previous wage statistics from the third quarter of 2021.
“In the case processing applications for the Positive List for Skilled Work, SIRI uses wage statistics made by Statistics Denmark. The wage statistics are used to decide if an offered job is within the Danish standards for salary,” the statement of SIRI reads.
Currently, SIRI uses wage statistics that are based on the data provided by Danish statistics in order to ensure that everyone gets paid in line with the current standards that the country has.
In order to ensure that salary and terms of employment correspond to Danish standards, all foreigners applying for a job on the Positive List for Skilled Work must attach a copy of their employment contract.
Moreover, they must also state all terms and conditions of employment in the contract.
“If SIRI is unsure whether your salary and employment conditions correspond to Danish standards, we may ask the relevant authority to assess whether the offered salary and employment conditions correspond to Danish standards,” SIRI added.
Denmark’s Positive List for Skilled Work is a list that contains professions experiencing a shortage of qualified professionals.
Nationals of other countries who get offered a job that is included in the Positive List for Skilled Work are able to apply for a Danish residence as well as a work permit on the basis of this scheme.
Denmark’s positive list is updated every six months, and it currently includes several positions.
Previously, SchengenVisaInfo.com reported that Denmark is looking for foreigners to fill in 36 job titles in the Positive List for Skilled Work.
In line with the newly updated lists, Denmark is looking for a laboratory technician, plumber, technical designer, sales and account manager, medical secretary, family counselor, IT operator, bookkeeper, chef, hairdresser, landscape gardener, electrician, telecommunications technician, and baker, among many others.
As the authorities have explained, the job titles that are part of the Positive List for Skilled Work will remain on the list until December 31, 2023, and once the list gets updated, a new deadline, as well as new positions, will be introduced.
In addition to the above-mentioned, Denmark is also looking for highly educated foreigners to fill in certain job positions. The country’s Positive List for People with a Higher Education includes 30 job titles.
