Flight searches to France for the period surrounding the 2024 Olympics, from July 23 to August 13, 2024, have increased by 25 per cent.

Recent findings released by Amadeus show that flight searches to France are soaring from around the world.
The top five countries searching the most for flights to France for the 2024 Olympics are the US, Great Britain, Brazil, Spain, and Canada.
With most of the Olympic games being held in Paris, it’s no surprise that the demand for flights to the French capital has surged, reaching 33 per cent higher compared to the same period last year.
When looking at specific markets, data show that Germans lead in searching for flights to Paris. Flight searches to Paris by Germans have increased by 144 per cent.
As for the other main markets mentioned above, figures revealed that flight searches from the US to Paris for July 23 – August 15, 2024, are up by 72 per cent.
Searches from the UK are up by 60 per cent, and searches from Brazil are up by 50 per cent, with these countries showing one of the highest year-on-year increases.
The interest in flying to France during the period surrounding the Olympics has also increased in Europe and the Americas, with flight searches from these two markets increasing by 34 and 29 per cent, respectively.
Travel Plans Extend Beyond Paris
While Paris remains in the spotlight for the Olympics, other French cities are also popular for the period.
Marseille, Lyon, and Lille, which are set to host competitions, are experiencing an increase in flight searches.
Marseille, hosting football and sailing competitions, is seeing a 13 per cent increase in domestic and international flight searches.
On the other hand, Lyon and Lille are seeing an even higher increase.
Domestic flight searches to Lyon by football fans are seeing an increase of 70 per cent, and international flight searches are seeing an increase of 19 per cent.
Lille, which will be hosting basketball and handball events, has seen a 100 per cent increase in both domestic and international flight searches.
A one-week stay remains the preferred choice for the majority of visitors to France for the 2024 Olympics.
