The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin secured the title of “Europe’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience 2023” at the prestigious World Travel Awards after surpassing eight other nominees in the same category.
The title was awarded to Dublin during the ceremony held in Batumi,Georgia, on Friday, September 29, 2023.
It is the second year in a row that Dublic claims the award, leaving behind competitors such as Beck’s Brewery and Erdinger Weissbräu Brewery in Germany, Budweiser Budvar Brewery in the Czech Republic, Fuller’s Brewery in England, the Heineken Experience in the Netherlands, Maison Leffe, and Stella Artois Brewery, both in Belgium.
Catherine Toolan, the Managing Director of the Diageo Irish Brand Homes, enthusiastically described the recognition as fantastic for Ireland.
In the past 12 months, we have welcomed 1.4M visitors to The Guinness Storehouse from 165 countries, who come through our famous black gates to experience the best of modern Irish culture, to learn more about our Irish stout, and get a taste of our beautiful pints.
Dublin also topped the list as Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction for 2023, beating out some of the most famous attractions like the Eiffel Tower and Batumi Boulevard in Georgia.
Just in the first few months of 2023, Ireland has already welcomed approximately 1.7 million tourists.
One of the busiest times in Ireland’s capital is Saint Patrick’s Day Festival, a five-day event in the middle of March filled with entertainment, attracting people from all over the world who come to enjoy parades, savour special foods, and partake in the city’s renowned drinking traditions.
The Guinness Storehouse experiences exceptionally high crowds during the festival, with visitors from around the globe making reservations. The cost for the Guinness Storehouse experience alone is approximately €26.
One of the reasons behind the popularity of the Guinness Storehouse is that it offers people the opportunity to immerse themselves in history and savour Ireland’s famous beer. When visiting the Home of Guinness, guests get a behind-the-scenes look at the craft of brewing a pint of the Black Stuff but also have the chance to experience the cinema room, a space that vividly narrates the history of Guinness advertising.
Europe’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience can be enjoyed by visitors for just €12 per person, with each visitor having the opportunity to learn the famous six-step ritual, pour themselves a cold, fresh pint, and then savour it while taking in Dublin’s finest views.
