Switzerland’s flag carrier, Swiss International Air Lines SWISS, is preparing for an expansion of its short-haul network in the upcoming summer schedules of 2024. Among the notable additions is the introduction of summer flights connecting Zurich and Bremen, thus expanding the existing winter service to North German cities.
In addition, Oslo will become part of SWISS’s Geneva-based network with the launch of summer services on the established Geneva-Copenhagen and Geneva-Stockholm routes.
We are thrilled to enhance our array of European destinations, providing our customers with an even broader range of air travel options. This expansion underscores SWISS’s dedication to delivering top-notch services and extensive travel choices.
According to local media, Bremen, already part of the winter schedule from Zurich, will continue to feature in the summer schedule, showcasing its old town, landmarks such as the Statue of Roland, and a vibrant arts and culture scene.
Cluj-Napoca and Košice will also join the SWISS short-haul network in the summer of 2024. At the same time, increased frequencies are planned on lines connecting Zurich to various European destinations, including Alicante, Madrid, Naples, Venice and Vilnius.
Moreover, Oslo makes its debut on SWISS’s Geneva network, offering a delightful combination of contemporary architecture, green spaces and cultural attractions, including the renowned Opera House. The airline is set to enhance its summer services to Copenhagen, known for its mix of modern Scandinavian design and historic charm, as well as Stockholm, known for its picturesque setting spread over 14 islands, adorned with palaces well preserved and historic lanes of the old town.
Passengers flying SWISS on the summer 2024 schedules can expect increased frequencies between Geneva and established destinations such as Athens, Brindisi, Brussels, Catania, Malaga, Palma and Valencia. This expansion is designed to offer travellers a wider range of choices and underlines SWISS’s commitment to providing exceptional service and diverse travel options.
Furthermore, in September 2023, SWISS announced its rapid expansion of the route network for the 2024 summer schedule, which is set to run from March 31 to October 26. Responding to increasing demand, the airline is introducing a variety of new regional short-haul and intercontinental long-haul destinations in both Europe and North America.
In the upcoming summer season, SWISS also plans to inaugurate a new non-stop flight service to and from Košice, Slovakia’s second-largest city. Recognised as a vital hub in Eastern Slovakia, Košice has garnered attention from foreign investors in Switzerland, adding to its appeal as a destination.
